Drew Brees will be arrayed in
gold again for the first time
since his college days.

Drew Brees - A Real Saint

He persisted. He hung in there. And for a time, people even started feeling sorry for his backup, a guy who was drafted VERY high and has never started in a professional football game.

But now, it's Drew Brees turn to garner our sympathy.

You see, the big-bad-wolf is right there, in San Diego, and he hapens to be the guy who let Drew Brees go - right when he was turning the franchise around with stellar play.

I guess no one's job is safe in the NFL. 9-7 isn't good enough to keep your job these days, it has to be 11-5 or better. Even if you brought us to the playoffs last year, Drew, what have you done for me LATELY?

So now you are consigned to the NFL junkyard - The New Orleans Saints. Where careers are buried forever. Will it be that way for you, Drew? Say it Saint so.

For the first time in a long time - assuming Drew comes back from surgery - the Saints will be big-time players. Donte Stallworth and Joe Horn are great players who never get the ball in the right spot from Aaron Brooks, who is always too inconsistent to be counted on.

Between Brees and the return of Deuce McAllister the Saints are really in great shape and a good receiving corps, the Saints will be in better shape than ever.

Hopefully the Superdome gets finished soon so the city can come see a team that might finally be ready to play.
