NFC Playoff Teams Making All The Wrong Moves If I had $5 on me right now (which I don't), I would have to say there isn't a team in the NFC I would put it on. The problem revolves around the fact that everyone who made it in last year has done little or nothing to ensure their return. With the exception of the Seahawks, nobody in the NFC seems to care about returning to the playoffs. The Bucs, in real need at the WR position, will instead lean on the draft. The Bears desperately need a QB, but that's a broken record. The Panthers need some kind of rushing attack, and DeShaun Foster was injured at the end of the year, Stephen Davis was ineffective. Brad Hoover and Nick Goings won't be able to get it done for them. The Redskins seem willing to let guys like Arrington depart, and they have no one in their sights as replacements. They need a QB to get Moss the ball. |

The Seahawks are good enough to get in, but I believe they might face a challenge from "the upstart" Cardinals, who added a good running back and already have proven themselves scary on offense - without the threat of running the ball. It's just another year for the NFC - another year of under-achievers trying to keep up with the big boys over in the AFC. If you put San Diego (before they gave away Brees), Kansas City, Miami, and a couple of the other teams that didn't make it into the playoffs from the AFC side into the NFC, any one of them would have gone to the Super Bowl - and perhaps won it. But the NFC is weak right now, and based on that weakness, it's hard to see anyone from this side of the NFL returning to the playoffs for another shot - but hey, what do I know? |
