*NO YOU'RE WRONG* In this week's *NO YOU'RE WRONG*, we take a look at a talented, misunderstood, and interesting person - Minnesota's Daunte Culpepper. I mean Miami's. Yes, the 'phins pulled the trigger on him and his $400 Billion contract or whatever it is, and in exchange they got the man they wanted to lead their team. There is not much debate about whether he is an improvement for the Dolphins - it was Gus Fre-ROTTEN or Jay Center-Fiedler last year in the battle of who-sucks-less. The Dolphins, behind
the mind of Nick Saban, were almost able to sneak into the playoffs -
even with options such as these at QB. The REAL question about Daunte is
whether he is going to make the 'Phins competitive. Our experts have
different opinions about that. |

Randy Stanton is a staff writer for Five Yard Penalty - his opinions are useless and uninformed, and everything he says and writes should be taken with a grain of salt and a shot of whiskey. He is a fan, a fanatic, and fanatical. |
Mark Adlers is a staff writer for Five Yard Penalty - he truly believes that people are reading what he has to write. Judging by the multiple lawsuits against him, we believe so too. Nothing he has to say is true, we ask you ignore this column entirely. |

Daunte Culpepper is better. Better than Gus Frerotte, better than Jay Fiedler. He is better than your mom, better than me, and better than the Dolphins deserve. (Note: See "Ricky Williams" for context on this comment.) So why is he not the answer for the Dolphins? A quick study of Culpepper reveals he was truly great. His greatness stemmed from the kindness of one Randall Moss. You see, our friend Randy was always there for him. Culpepper would run toward the sideline, hurl up a prayer and - oh - Randy would be there, too tall for any defender in the league to cover.

Now, there is no doubt Randy Moss was a help to Culpepper. And of course, everyone looks at last year and says, "Oh, he really DOES stink without Moss." Of course, Randy Moss didn't exactly have a stellar year last year either, but it seems a lot of people forgot about that and simply blamed it on Collins. But I digress... Let's take a deeper look into the facts. Culpepper has put up numbers like no other QB in the league over the last few years. |
