Tuna on T.O.ast Is it a bad idea for Jerry Jones to put The Tuna and Terrell Owens on the same team? It might be. Parcells has a certain way of dealing with players that works for some and doesn't for others. Surprisingly to some, his style worked with the guy they decided to part ways with this week - Keyshawn Johnson. And yet, we STILL don't believe he will be able to get T.O. into the fold. Put simply, if Mariucci and Reid couldn't keep T.O. in line, what makes Jerry Jones think Parcells has a chance? To be totally honest with you, we aren't sure he doesn't have a chance. Parcells is a disciplinarian (Yes, it's a word) unlike Andy Reid or Steve Mariucci. Reid disciplined without speaking - Parcells will call you out. The fact that Parcells will out a player so quickly should make T.O. nervous. |

He is too brash, too unconcerned, and now that he has a $5 million signing bonus in his pocket, he also has NO MOTIVATION to do what it takes to stay on this team. Heck, if he acts up, he might even get traded somewhere and end up with a bigger better contract. Maybe the Cowboys are counting on that and just signed him iun hopes of trading him during the season, but I really doubt it - it seems like Jerry Jones will hire anyone who has talent at receiver as long as they have a big mouth to back it up. (See: Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin) Speaking of Michael Irvin, this is the one and only guy who will defend T.O. He is always backing him on ESPN and talking about how great the guy is and how he deserves a second chance. That opinion doesn't fly with The Tuna, who has a tendency to take a hard line. When it comes right down to it, Big Bill and the rest of the Cowboys and their fans should cringe when T.O. comes to town. He'll catch the ball, there's no doubt. But who will he turn around and throw it at? |
